Best Fall Read of 2018
Fall is a great time to get a little reading done. Even if you’re unable to get an actual vacation, finding time with a good book can do a lot to help recharge the batteries and maintain the sanity we all need to function in this rat-race! A good fall read should be captivating and a quick read and allow the right amount of escapism without having to do too much thinking. Here is a great book to read this fall winter season!
Bearskin
Moore is starting to believe his troubles are over. Finally. He’s employed protecting a virgin patch of woods in the Appalachian Mountains where his main job is finding wildlife and fixing remote cabins.
It’s difficult, and totally lonesome—a perfect way to stay hidden from the Mexico drug cartels he betrayed a long time ago. But when Moore finds the carcass of a black bear in the forest he keeps, the quiet life he’s built is suddenly at exposed.
More bears are killed on the preserve and Moore’s obsession with getting the poacher boils, leading to violent confrontations with the locals and drawing attention from both the local law and Moore’s former employers.
Partnering with his a friend, a scientist that hopes to continue researching the preserve, Moore starts a plan that may reveal the poachers but risks revealing his own hideout in the process to the cartel that is looking for him—and for good reason.
McLaughlin does a great job at bringing out the beauty of Appalachian Mountain life.
This is a very entertaining novel that is a good break from the same old thriller plot that seems to be on every book shelf. If you want a good book to read this Fall, then pick up a copy of Bearskin and be fully entertained!
